EARLY CHILDHOOD ASSISTANT PROGRAM

This program is designed to prepare individuals to work collaboratively with Early Childhood Educators to support children’s learning, holistic development, and well-being. This program will equip learners with the knowledge and skills to create inclusive, culturally sensitive, and safe learning environments that value and respect social, cultural, and linguistic diversity, including Indigenous peoples’ worldviews and Francophone identity.

Graduates of the Early Childhood Assistant Diploma Program will be equipped to work collaboratively with Early Childhood Educators in a range of early years and childcare settings, including daycare centers, preschools, and kindergartens. Graduates will be able to co-create, facilitate, and reflect upon inquiry and play-based early years and childcare programs and pedagogical approaches that support children’s learning, holistic development, and well-being. Graduates will also be able to create and maintain inclusive early learning environments that value and support equitable, accessible, and meaningful learning opportunities for all children, their families, and communities.
