U-First!® for Health Care Providers is a 6-hour dementia care workshop designed to strengthen the knowledge, skills, and confidence of health care providers who support people living with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or other cognitive impairments.
The program helps participants better understand the person behind the behaviour and recognize that changes in behaviour may have many different causes. Through the U-First!® approach, participants learn how to identify and respond to changes, communicate more effectively, support everyday activities, and work collaboratively with the care team to develop individualized strategies.
