INTERNATIONAL STUDENT

UMS Healthcare College is recognized by the provincial government to be in the list of Designated Learning Institutions to host international students.

When applying to UMS Healthcare College, please note that all applications must be submitted online using the Online Application.

Important Note: The number of submitted applications regularly exceeds our seating capacity in each program. As such, admissions are highly competitive and meeting the minimum entry criteria of a program does not guarantee acceptance. Admissions close once the enrolment capacity of each program is reached. If we cannot offer admission to the specific program to which you applied, we may provide an alternative offer of admission to a different (but closely related) program. Please take this information into consideration before applying.

ADMISSION PROCESS

STEP 1

Before you register, you must verify if the English Language Proficiency requirement is met. Submit results of one of the following:
  • IELTS Academic Module with an overall band of 5.5 or more
  • TOEFL result with a score of 80 (online) or 550 (paper-based)
  • Minimum of 3 years of full time study at a school where medium of instruction is English. A letter from the institution or the transcript justifying the medium of instruction must be submitted for evaluation

STEP 2

Document Checklist (to submit within registration form):
  • Passport
  • Highest level of education (transcripts/diploma/certification)
  • English Language Proficiency test results
Foreign credentials must be translated to English and assessed by an organization like World Education Services (WES).

STEP 3

Fill up Online Application Form and pay a non-refundable fee of 550 CAD to be considered and evaluated by the College

STEP 4

If the applicant is accepted by the College, a payment of 50% of the total program fees is required and the Letter of Acceptance will be issued to the student. The Letter of Acceptance is to be submitted along with the student’s visa application through www.cic.gc.ca

STEP 5

Upon being granted the study permit/visa, the student must email the visa copy to the College at college@umsmed.ca
